ANYWAYS,
that night we had dinner with family friends at the new Shanghai Restaurant at Market Square. It wasn't very good, though I must say they did a pretty good job at their indoor decoration. I think the place was called 'Taste'. Opened next to the butchery.

I generally do loveeeeee northern Chinese food, but this place was just a big disappointment.
The fried rice and noodles were very poorly seasoned, with the most ridiculously limited amount of ingredients.
Their Seafood fried rice had no seafood.
Shanghai stir fry noodles only had noodles and tiny pieces of green vegetables.
The dishes were a whole let down compared to the grand-like opening.

Dishes like this had always been my favourite. It's a pan-fried bun with pork filling. The surprise is that soup bursts from inside when you bite into it. You can burn yourself if you're not careful!

Sadly, it was shameful how they could used the exact same filling for the the juicy bun, juicy dumplings and even the WO TIE (pan-fried dumpling).
Only the outside crust of the three dishes were different. Imagine eating three very dry dishes like that!

Well here's one thing that actually tasted a bit different and not as bland:

I wouldn't even say that their food is palatable at all, taste-wise.
Just...not acceptable at all. (I still can't get over their fried rice ._.)

Well, you can see their special dumpling-skin-rolling skills on display.

My grandfather can do ten times faster ._. ...
