Pancake Manor

HI, Hayley and I went to eat at Pancake Manor the other day after school! Well, pancakes havn't become an obsession of mine. It is just coincidental that I have been eating quite a lot of them lately.

ANYWAYS, the pancakes there were soooooooooo yummy. They sell savoury crepes as well!
The restaurant is located on the far end of Charlotte Street, where the Anzac Square is. It is the street parallel to Elizabeth Street.

The brick building seemed quite ancient to me. I like old buildings. Especially when they look like what used to be a church. Maybe it was one.
I forgot what it was, but Hayley had some sort of waffles, and I had the cherry forrest. It was pancakes served with cooked cherries and topped with ice cream:

The pancakes were soooooooooooooo big that I only finished a little more than half. I managed to eat all my cherries though.
If I was to nominate someone for an eating competition, that would be Hayley. (:

Oh, have I shown you guys this before?

They were the pancakes on my birthday early this year (:
Thank you~

Mmm...do you prefer big or medium sized pictures?

Strawberry Hotcakes

HIHI, Jono finally came back on Saturday midnight! My aunt and I went out to the airport to pick him up. I have been rather busy lately, and so I slept later than usual at around 10:30 every night. I was pretty tired at school today that I was half asleep during english. It was so boring.

ANYWAYS, sunday morning:

THE ULTIMATE JESSICA STRAWBERRY HOTCAKES
with whipped cream (:

Sorry that it is not complete, because I forgot to measure the milk :(
My recipe""
-3/4 cup self raising flour
-1/4 cup plain flour
-milk (mmm, untill mixture is runny and smooth :/
-1 egg

(two serves, makes sixteen slices)

SO, just sift the flour and mix everything else together.
For a more softer and bouncier hotcake/pancake, add more self raising flour instead of plain!

ANYWAYS: wow i really need to sleep
the caramalized strawberries:
-bring some sugar and water to boil for maybe...10minutes,,just make sure that they don't burn (Sorry, I havn't got the proportions here as well. I never measure the amount I put in, but you need a lot lot more sugar than water)
-Mix the sugar well with the water and add in strawberries. (Cut up the strawberries if they're too big)
-Cook for two minutes? Not too long so that your strawberries won't lose its colour.
-Spoon out the caramalized fruit onto the plate.

TADA!

ANYWAYS, the other day I cooked:

Prawns

I like them naked

and grilled

and sweet chilli sauced

I hate prawns now. Pilling their shells gave me a cut. I like prawns. They taste good without their shells.

We ate in our backyard, because our flowers finally came out:

They usually come out in June when it is cold, but this year it is a month late.

ANYWAYS, everyone felt like something nice and warm last night, so I also made a bread and butter pudding:

First time making it, and it turned out to be pretty good! ^__________^

I'm happy.

Chocolate Fondant

I was watching Master Chef before. So glad that Callum made it through. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that he will become the next Master Chef of Australia. s2

ANYWAYS, his chocolate fondant reminded me of the one that I had with my friends in Hong Kong!

In Chinese, it is called "heart too soft". I think it is such a nice name since the cake has a soft gooey chocolate centre.(:

SO, we were eating in a restaurant before that, and WOAH, we saw our grade two form slash english teacher!!!!!

She rolled her eyes so much at us. Oh, and I remember she gave me a hello kitty keyring in grade three...........................(:

THEN, we went to sticker photos

Most of you have seen these anyway.

Oh, the very last one was taken by those SUPER old sticky photo machine...for like $2AUS HAHA

You can draw whatever you like, press the orange button, then the image will pop out from the canvas and start moving around the page. (: Try it.

I DREW A PINK MICKEY MOUSE:

I am amused.

ANYWAYS, back to my math study and Master Chef now.

Orea Cheesecake

Hello, my aunty bought cream cheese from Phelidelphia awhile ago when she went grocery shopping. Some of you probably already know that they give out a free cookbook for any three purchase of their products! It's pretty cool, because all the recipes tell you that you'll need Philadelphia cheese. Last night, I decided to try out the Orea Cheesecake:

Ofcourse my cake didn't turn out to look as nice as the one in the book, whichimnotgoingtoshowyouguys. (:
It should have took only twenty minutes to make, according to the book, but i took over thirty. I was too lazy to take out the food processor and thought I could crumb the orea cookies by hand. I realised stabbing the cookies with a spoon wasn't very progressive, so in the end, I fetched the processor. I ate the cake for breakfast this morning. We thought that the two of us wouldn't be able to finish the whole cake anyway, so my aunty took half of it to her dance class. They gave us half a sponge cake and chicken pies in return........................

ANYWAYS, I felt so empty today. In every single way. SO, I made this:

THE ULTIMATE MABLE RED BEAN GREEN TEA JELLY DESSERT
Noticed that it is not "the ultimate jessica blabla"?
A lady named Mable taught me this dessert when I worked at her shop. (:
We also had another one which was a coffee jelly. I liked that one better, but I couldn't find seaweed extract in here, nor did they have any premade coffee jelly powder. It is actually different to the jelly made using gelatine. Seaweed extract is used, which is a totally different texture when you eat it. Like those asian jelly in mini cups.

Mmm...I'm sucking on a See's lollipop right now. Cafe Latte. Very yummy.

ANYWAYS, my dad finally called me. I think it was thursday when we had a fight through the phone. He wouldn't stop nagging me about my BMI. That stupid body mass index thingo which said I was underweight. It says ANYBODY is underweight. My parents were so crazy that they pushed me onto a scale when I went back to Hong Kong. Eversince that day, my dad had been saying that my face is a triangle. SIGH. Everyone who reads my blog should tell him that I DO eat. I eat lunch at school as well. OH WELL, dads. (: We're fine now.

Good Morning Saturday

Hello, I managed to sleep in till seven this morning. Strangely, I feel like a chocolate whenever I wake up these days, so I had a white chocolate kit kat before I ate my breakfast. Actually, I spreaded some chocolate sauce on top of cookies, then ate them after I had the kit kat, and before I ate my breakfast, as well. I realised that I should eat some proper breakfast, so I made..

THE ULTIMATE JESSICA PANCAKE TOWER

There were sixteen layers, so my aunt and I each had eight. I love pouring syrup down pancakes.

-a little less than half a cup of plan flour
-a little more than half a cup of self raising
-an egg
-some milk

JONOOOOOOOOOO

IS GONE FROM MASTER CHEF T_________________T
...and I actually thought that he would win the game :/

Three things I like about you (Jonathan):
1. I like how you eliminated everyone from all eliminations , but obviously not the last one.
2. You have the same name as my brother and hence, you're cool ...I so do not judge people by their names >:(...
3. Did you know that you look attractive when you cook? (: So do all guys. They look good when they cook.

ANYHOW, I will still continue to watch the show.
This post is only a tribute to my most favourite participant from Master Chef.

GOOD BYE JONO!

Back to Brisbane 2

Jono, Jacobie and Mum

I found this sink in China:

but the man made grass was very dirty.

Hotel Shangrila

We had breakfast here every morning

Don't you just hate it when someone gives you that face?
Again:

and then he blames you for not taking enough photos.

Look at all that people on the Great Wall. That's why
we went the other way, instead of the one we were told to go, because it was much more emptier. We'd rather try the very steep path than the one packed with tourists.

I dunno why I bought my cream converse to China as well. It was raining so bad on the first day, and there were black dirt in the rain. My shoes got really dirty:

They look clean here...

but can you see the black dots now?
Lucky I washed them straight away after I went back to Hong Kong. The stains were gone!

They gave us this tiny Chinese wine at a restaurant for the eight of us to share:

It was like pouring bleach into our throats.

We had dinner here:

The table could sit over thirty to fourty people.
It takes quite a bit of effort to rotate the glass, so it was automatic once they have plated up some food.

Back to Brisbane

Hello! Title says it all. (:...

ANYWAYS, I'm sorry if you ever stumbled into my page in the last few days and end up in disappointment. I havn't been blogging much, since it gets quite busy sometimes in Hong Kong, especially when my cousins came back from America as well.

I am also very sorry to tell you that this post is going to be totally random and out of place, since it's going to be a recollection of bits and pieces of my holiday.

One day I went shopping by myself in one of my favourite shop:

H&M! They have it in the USA.

ACTUALLY, let's talk about the 8th of July. It was my dad's birthday. He loves red bean so I took the bus...

with my gears...and paid a surprise visit to his office. Then I made this:

THE ULTIMATE JESSICA RED BEAN ICE
Actually, I didn't event this. It's a typical drink in Hong Kong. I'm not sure whether they have this in Taiwan or China as well.

WELL, few simple ingredients:

A very very thick red bean paste. Just boil red bean, water and sugar together. It takes over an hour to soften the red bean. Adjust everything yourself. (:

I grabbed some ice from a Maccas nearby. You can't really see them in this photo.

I also bought some chilled milk from there. They were quite expensive...--

WELL, my dad was very pleased hehe, then we had sushi train for dinner. With my grandma as well!

ANYWAYS, THE GREAT WALL.

It was very very steep at some parts.

I would love to continue, because I took hundreds of photos, but it's getting very very late now, 11:00pm, so I shall show you more tomorrow. (:

GOOD NIGHT!

My Latest Update

Hello, I'm back from my five-days tour in Beljing, China. My plane arrived late yesterday, and this morning I suffered a massive stomach pain.

I havn't been feeling so well since yesterday. This morning I woke up at six from the pain I had in my stomach. It was really bad. At first, I thought it was maybe that my pants were too tight, because I probably gained weight from the trip. Sadly, the pain continued, even thought I woke up to change into my mum's pants, untill nine. The pain went on and off every few minutes. Three hours of rolling on the sofa. Oh god.

My parents went off to work early. Maid gave me some warm water and medicine to rub onto my tummy. Yes, Tiger Balm, because I'm asian.

I tried to talk to my friends on msn to distract myself. It just kept getting worse and worse. In the end, I put on my slippers and paid a visit to the general practitioner downstairs. They say I ate bad food from trip.

In the end, I receieved three packets of different tablets and a bottle of liquid medicine. After taking the medication, the pain is slowly disappearing from what went on and off every few minutes to half an hour or so.

I will probably come back to Brisbane this Saturday, and now I have wasted another staying at home. MUST GET WELL BY TOMORROW.

SO, I am going to rest in my bed for now and eat my congee tonight. YAY, no need exercise, because that's all I can eat right now.

WELL, atleast The Great Wall was worth going to.....
